"might offer the best lift-assisted powder skiing in the U.S." - Ski Magazine
There are numerous unmarked natural and man made hazards on the ski hill - ski with caution and be aware of these hazards!
Turner Mountain Ski Patrol (TMSP) is an all volunteer organization dedicated to providing a safe skiing/boarding experience for everyone, as well as rendering evacuation/medical assistance for those occasional mishaps on the hill! TMSP operates under Kootenai Winter Sports and Ski Education Foundation in a non-profit status.
Our main patrol room is located on the lower level, left hand side of the new Lodge. We also have a building at the top of the mountain and currently run the top lift shack during operations.

TMSP recently re-started the Junior ski patroller program. This program is a way for a few youngsters (age 16-18 and in high school) to get experience at the job of ski patrolling. Junior patrollers shadow experienced patrollers to learn the tricks of the trade; they participate in our annual accident scenario training and chair lift evacuation training as well as standard first aid classes. The program is limited to 4 or 5 juniors so as not to overwhelm the patrol.
Junior patrollers learn job responsibility, a good work ethic, and gain experience and knowledge in all aspects of ski hill operation. TMSP has already had bright, hard working juniors advance to full patroller status.
TMSP is supported through fund-raising and contributions for needed equipment. We would like to thank all those who have supported us in the past through individual contributions, Combined Campaign, or fundraisers at the annual Turner Mtn Fun Nite held at the Red Dog.
In addition, TMSP wishes to thank the following for their support and donations:
TMSP is also grateful to the LADC, Libby City Council, Lincoln County Commissioners, and the area residents for their continued support of Turner Mountain through the funding of the chairlift and lodge that will ensure the longtime future of downhill skiing/boarding in our area.
